Sandwich-type Strip Heater
The way this type of strip heater works is by placing the plastic piece in between two metal bars that heat up the plastic. These types of heaters generally tend to be really, really hot so the instant you put the plastic in, it's probably already heated up to the point where you can bend it without breaking it. This might sound like a great thing because it's almost instant but it might also burn your plastic if you let it in there for too long. |
Woodfast Strip Heater
The way this type of strip heater works is by placing it on top the strip heater. The missing space is what heats up the plastic. The Woodfast Strip Heater doesn't produce as much heat as the sandwich-type strip heater so it takes a little bit longer, but that doesn't mean it's worse. If it is not as hot, the plastic won't burn as easily and it is also a lot more safer if somebody accidentally touches it. |
